This was taken a few years ago in Whitefish, Montana while we were vacationing there and attending my brother’s wedding.  I went for an early drive one morning to catch the sunrise but being from the prairies I don’t have a lot of experience photographing in the mountains.  I needed to get out of the trees and find a good vantage point and luckily the ski hill has a long, winding switchback road that provided a great view of the mountains to the east.  The layers of trees and mountains reminded me so much of photos I’ve seen of the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee.
