This tree, the pasture that surrounds it and the farmyard nearby will all be consumed by our sprawling city in the very near future.  While I was taking this photo I could hear the excavators and earth moving machines working nearby preparing for Saskatoon’s next subdivision.  It saddens me a little to know that neat old rural areas like this will get bulldozed to make way for urban sprawl.  I guess that’s one of the side effects of a rapidly growing city like ours.

If you’re wondering about the title, I was listening to music while working on this photo when the Townes Van Zandt song “Where I Lead Me” (sung by Steve Earle) starts playing.  The mood of the song and the title just seemed to fit this photo.
